Unglaublich, wie lange es gedauert hat, bis man tatsächlich in der Lage war, auf hoher See den Längengrad der eigenen Position zu bestimmen! Dabei ist es eigentlich ganz einfach: Man braucht dafür nur eine Uhr!
Noch unglaublicher, mit welcher Ignoranz man einem handwerklichen Meister wie John Harrison begegnet ist, und wie man ihn um den verdienten Lohn seiner Leistung gebracht hat!
Völlig unverständlich, dass dieser Mann nicht wenigstens heutzutage - im Zeitalter der Satellitennavigation - bekannt ist!

Taschenbuch, 175 Seiten

Inzwischen ist das Buch gebunden und als Taschenbuch auch in Deutsch verfügbar und heisst "Längengrad".
